Santa’s Workshop 2018

YWCA Central Alabama provided toys to more than 350 children on Saturday, December 8, 2018, with its annual Santa’s Workshop event! This event helps families living in area homeless shelters and transitional housing programs have a happy holiday season.
More than 150 parents were provided a dignified shopping experience where they could pick out free toys for their children. Each parent was paired with a YWCA Junior Board member that assisted them with picking out the perfect gifts for their children based on their age, gender and interests. While the parents shopped, over 200 children were given the opportunity to make gifts they can give to their moms, friends and other loved ones, and even have their picture taken with Santa.
Santa’s Workshop would not have been possible without the gracious help and cheerful attitudes of volunteers, donors, supporters and our outstanding Board and Junior Board members that take time to come to make the holidays special for our community’s families in need.
