Susan Wilson is thrilled to bring her passion for donor engagement and major gift fundraising to the YWCA as the next Vice President of Development. Susan is relocating to Birmingham from Toledo, Ohio, though she calls Pittsburgh her hometown.
Susan graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Fashion Illustration and Merchandising degree and set off for New York City, where she launched her career in the garment district. It was while living in NYC that Susan became involved in fundraising as a volunteer, igniting a dedication to philanthropy that would shape the rest of her career. Raising her family in Toledo, Susan found herself driving membership and donor development at the Toledo Museum of Art as Director of Leadership Annual Giving. For the past several years, she has served The University of Toledo as Director of Development, focused on securing major gifts for the Health Science Colleges.
Her passion for creating relationships that connect people to their dreams of making a social impact, and the opportunity to empower women has led her to the YWCA. Susan has 2 children: Mattie is a sophomore at Ohio State University studying astrophysics, and Wyatt is excited for the next chapter of life in Birmingham.
