YWCA Central Alabama is hosting the 21-Day Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge in Alabama to further our mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The premise of the event is to do one action every weekday for 21 days to further your understanding of power, privilege, oppression, and equity.
What is this?
– From Sept. 21-Oct. 19, participants who signed up for the challenge will receive an email prompting them with a daily challenge. Anyone can take part in the event at any time during the challenge. Participation in an activity like this helps us connect with one another, discover how racial inequity and social injustice impact our community, and identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination.
–
– Engage with other participants in the challenge by sharing your reflections on social media using the hashtags #YWCAEquityChallenge and #YWCA21DayChallenge. This is an exciting opportunity to dive deep into racial equity and social justice.
