We need a few good volunteers!
Each year, YWCA Central Alabama hosts Santa’s Workshop to help families who are living in area homeless/transitional shelters or those otherwise in need to have a happy holiday season.
On the day of the event, Dec. 7, 2019, children get to meet Santa and make gifts and crafts that they can give to parents, teachers, friends, and other loved ones. Meanwhile, caregivers get to “shop” (everything is free) for toys and other gifts to give to their precious babies.
Last year, YWCA Central Alabama provided toys to more than 350 children! More than 150 parents were provided a dignified shopping experience where they could pick out free toys for their children.
Santa’s Workshop would not be possible without the gracious help and cheerful attitudes of volunteers, donors, supporters, and outstanding Board and Junior Board members who take time to come to make the holidays special for our community’s families in need.
