Since its inception in 2009, the BCBL AmeriCorps program has served 53 AmeriCorps sites, filling 115 jobs at the YWCA and partner agencies, and provided more than 607,160 total service hours to improve our community. The program has had over 400 members, hailing from diverse fields and communities across the nation, united by their passion. Each answered the call to service with enthusiasm and dedication and has been the driving force behind building communities, bettering lives, and moving the mission, impact, and success of YWCA and partners. “We are truly proud of the impact of the Building Communities, Bettering Lives AmeriCorps program and are grateful for each person touched by this legacy of excellence in service,” said Angela Abdur-Rasheed, Senior Director of Economic Empowerment.
