YWCA Domestic Violence Services is thrilled to present our virtual Summer Brunch Series. This July and August we will sit down with a topic expert to discuss issues related to domestic violence.
In June, the U.S. celebrated the 50th anniversary of Title IX, a federal law that is a powerful tool for combating campus violence. The law requires colleges receiving federal funding to combat gender-based violence and harassment, and respond to survivors’ needs in order to ensure that all students have equal access to education. We have invited Dr. Katie McIntyre, Assistant Professor of Sociology at Birmingham-Southern College, to discuss all things Title IX. If you are an educator, work with college students or know a student who will be attending college in the fall, this discussion is for you.
Please join Dr. McIntyre and YWCA’s Domestic Violence Outreach & Prevention Specialist DeShunn Wilkerson on Friday, July 29 from 10:30-11:30. You can click the registration button below to receive a Zoom link or you can tune in Live the day of on our Facebook page.
