DVAM: In Her Shoes Simulation

October 11, 2022

10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), we are holding a series of simulations. Based on real-life stories, participants will explore a series of scenarios that provide a snapshot of violent and coercive relationships. The experience generates a thoughtful discussion about what happens in unhealthy relationships and what opportunities exist to support those experiencing them.

This training will help the participant

  • Explore what happens in domestic violent relationships
  • Identify protocols and procedures to help victims of domestic violence, including evidenced-based assessments
  • Learn about services within the local community to assist victims and survivors

The simulation will be held in person at the YWCA’s downtown Birmingham building. Participants can park in the YWCA parking lot located off of 3rd Ave N or at any street parking near the building and enter through our main entrance on 23rd St N. Please check in at the kiosk upon your arrival.

Registration is required as there are a limited number of spots available in this simulation. Additional dates and times are available.
