WATCH THE REPLAY

YWCA Central Alabama is on a mission to Stand Against Racism. We believe our collective efforts can root out injustice, transform institutions, and create a world that sees women, children, and people of color the way we do: Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable. For centuries, we’ve watched art shape the narrative of countless racial and gender equity movements. This truth remains today. Join YWCA Central Alabama as we kick off our Stand Against Racism campaign by welcoming Ashley Jones, Alabama’s youngest Poet Laureate and the first Black Woman to hold the position. Stand with us as we declare: We Can’t Wait. We demand Equity and Justice Now!

The speakers are:

  • Dr. LaRhonda S. Magras
Chief Executive Officer of YWCA Central Alabama
  • Ashley M. Jones
Alabama’s youngest Poet Laureate and the first Black Woman to hold the position
