Aisha Prewitt is Director of Grants (on staff since December 2023) for YWCA Central Alabama, whose mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
Aisha Prewitt was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and is a product of Birmingham City Schools. Aisha brings over 20 years of experience that spans across nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors. She has a passion for serving others and enhancing the lives of women, children, and underserved communities. Aisha is distinguished by her diverse skill set and unique perspective shaped by her background in public health. Her expertise in project and grant management is a testament to her multifaceted abilities. She combines her in-depth knowledge of public health and data analytics to create effective grant proposals that resonates with funders and strategically manages grant projects from inception to completion.
Aisha is a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham and has a BS in Psychology and Sociology as well as a Masters of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health. Aisha is also a Doula who champions to improve Black Maternal Health rates in Alabama. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has two children. She enjoys baking and swimming in her spare time. Aisha is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
