Women’s Health Discussion

YWCA Central Alabama presented YWe Fit: The Better Health Care for Women Resolution, a virtual discussion about the current state of health care on Jan. 7. Watch the recorded webinar.

We supported a New Year’s resolution to ensure all women will be heard when vocalizing their health concerns. Quite often women’s true medical needs are left unaddressed. While in the midst of a global pandemic, we are seeing just how important it is for women to have access to adequate and affordable health care.

The presentation featured:
– Dr. Elizabeth Jackson, MD, MPH, UAB Director of Cardiovascular Outcomes & Effectiveness Research Outcomes
– Dr. Kierstin Kennedy, MD, MSHA FACP SFHM, Clinical Associate Professor Chief, UAB Hospital Medicine
They were joined the YW’s Dr. Idrissa Snider, Director of Social Justice, and Knetta Adkins, Coordinator of Community Education and Advocacy.
