  • YWCA Receives A Special Delivery From Power Force Apparel

A special delivery was made a few weeks ago to the YWCA Central Alabama. Power Force Apparel LLC donated 200 pairs of shoes and athletic apparel for the families that we serve. The company’s CEO, Guy Savage, says he’s simply doing his part to give back to the community.
Power Force’s generous donation will go to all of the families living in shelters the YWCA operates. The YWCA Central Alabama operates four shelters serving close to 50 families a day including: transitional housing, which was created to help homeless women transition from living in shelters to becoming more economically self sufficient; Interfaith Hospitality House, which provides housing for two parent families, single mothers with a male child 10 years of age or older, or homeless dads with daughters and two confidentially located shelters for women escaping domestic violence situations serving Blount, Jefferson and St. Clair counties.
“Often times our homeless families come to us with only the clothes on their backs. Donations of this magnitude are so meaningful to our families because new clothes and new shoes are an essential component in rebuilding self confidence and self esteem,” states Suzanne Durham, YWCA CEO.
Power Force Apparel known for its positive messages of inspiration, was founded in Birmingham, Alabama in 2010 as the preferred sport-band provider of major colleges and universities. They offer ion-infused athletic shoes and apparel. Guy Savage founded the company after building a successful career as a real estate investor. Savage has always believed in the vision of his inspired and well-made apparel. Power Force has made a pledge to offer highly-designed and comfortable products at affordable prices, with no single item exceeding $89.99.
“At Power Force we believe that you’ve got to give back to the community, that you have to share with people who don’t have as much as you do and that you have to contribute to how successful they become in life,” states Savage. “We hope that our message alone is what connects with people. Whether you wear the shoes and shirts or not – the message is that you are special, you make a difference, and you can believe in yourself. The idea behind Power Force is being able to do something that you think you’re not capable of doing and taking the power that is in you and the force that you have and pushing through barriers.”
For 110 years, YWCA Central Alabama has been responding to the needs of women, children and families. The YW’s programs and services serve women, children and families by providing: affordable child care for low-income families; child care and after-school enrichment programs for homeless children; affordable housing for families and seniors and a full array of domestic violence services.
The YWCA Central Alabama would like to thank Guy Savage and Power Force Apparel LLC for their compassion towards the families that we serve. To learn more about the YWCA Central Alabama or to donate, please click here.
