On Sept. 23 and in preparation for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, four YWCA Central Alabama volunteers pinned 1,000 purple ribbons to DV stat cards. Two of the volunteers are residents in YW’s downtown Birmingham building, and both shared how much they enjoyed serving. The volunteers asked to be informed about other volunteer opportunities. Mary Golston shared that this was the first time in her 12 years as a resident that she has had a chance to volunteer.
