YWCA Puts the FUN in Fundraising at KIDS Korner Event for Adults

July 21, 2022, BIRMINGHAM, AL – YWCA Central Alabama invites you to channel your inner child while supporting local Central Alabama children by attending KIDS Korner on August 11. This fun-filled event benefits YWCA’s Child Development Center (CDC), whose mission is to provide children with a high-quality educational experience in a safe, loving environment.

KIDS Korner, presented by PNC, is a casual cocktail attire event for adults that provides an evening of heavy hors d’oeuvres – including a mashed potato bar, craft rock candy cocktails, games, and fireworks that will have you reminiscing your childhood while learning about YWCA’s CDC. Join YWCA as they party with a purpose on Thursday, August 11 at Regions Field from 6-9 PM and rediscover your youth, all while benefiting the children of our community. Tickets can be purchased for $85/single ticket or $150/couple ticket at ywcakidskorner.swell.gives. Proceeds from the event, hosted by YWCA’s Junior Board of Directors, benefit YWCA’s CDC and help provide quality child care and early education.

“We are thrilled to be holding our 15th annual KIDS Korner event at Regions Field again this year. This fun-filled evening is about more than raising funds for our Child Development Center. It’s about supporting the children and families that would otherwise not have access to quality education and childcare,” said YWCA CEO Dr. LaRhonda Magras. “The past two years have only highlighted what we know to be true: quality childcare programs positively impact families’ overall health and wellbeing. Funds raised through this event help ensure this critical resource in our community is available for those families that need it the
most. We hope you will join us for the fun, fireworks, and lasting impact this night has in store.”

YWCA Child Development Center is one of less than 12% of the nation’s early childhood programs nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The Center offers affordable child care and early learning experiences to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old whose families are experiencing homelessness or are low- to moderate-income.
